Client Description: Battery Manufacturer

HygieneTech has performed quarterly industrial hygiene surveys for the purpose of determining employee exposures to inorganic lead during all phases of battery component part production and battery assembly. Among the personnel included in the surveys are casting operators, pasting operators, stackers, machine operators, maintenance workers, and forklift operators. Air samples are collected in employee breathing zones throughout the work shifts. Decontamination practices, housekeeping, and the use of personal protective equipment and engineering controls are evaluated during each survey.

In addition, wipe and bulk samples are collected from lunchrooms and at other locations outside of the production areas for the purpose of evaluating surface lead levels.
